I've tried the posted instructions for programming the transponder key for my 2005 Corolla and they are not working. I've got an OEM Toyota master key and have tried the master key on/off 5 times, open/close door 6 times method and it does not work for me.

Does anybody have the specific directions from a Toyota service manual???

I'm also having the same problem. Is there perhaps a different programming method if you have a manual transmission? I have a 2005 Corolla S manual. I've tried multiple times with no success. I was able to program the keyless remote successfully.

I never had any sucess trying to program my key using any of these methods. I kinda remember finding some other info on another site that said the 05 & newer Toyota keys have to be programmed at the dealer with a special device. Beause of this royal pain in the butt I bought another spare master key and will get both programmed at the dealer at the same time to try and lessen the overall cost for my spares. These transponder keys are a pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not been able to program my key. I did find WWW.Streetkey.com. T (http://www.Streetkey.com. T)hey will sell, cut, and program a key using locksmiths in your area. Options are: buy from them the correct key(with the little dimple on the shaft) that you cut and program; buy the key from them, they cut and program (using your vehicle vin number), you pick up at the shop; or buy the key from them, they cut and program and deliver the key to you. I have not used them yet, but the price looks to be half or so what the dealer wants. Pay in advance on line is the hooker to this.

you actually have to program the immobilizer to accept the key, not the key to the car, so sending it away to anyone wont solve this problem.

the door open shut method does work, if you go to the dealership its what i would do to register that key. the first dozen times i had to do one it make me pull my hair out, the timing has to be persice.

also, it will only accept so many keys before it needs to be reseeded, so if this is key #5 or 6 you will have to take it to a dealer because they are the only ones that have the software to get into the immobilizer (transponder) ecu.

i reccomend trying it again and again. its gonna be some silly little step once u figure it out.

Sorry, but I am a noob. Where can I find these instructions? I want to buy the key fro my dealer ($65), but they want to charge another $65 for programming. I might as well save $65 and do it myslef, if I can.
