Power Windows inop:

Hi, I am in search of information on the 1984 BMW 528 E in reference to the power window system. I have looked for a fuse in the fuse box under the hood but have found no fuse for the windows there. Is there another fuse box or is the system relying on a relay? Should I be looking for a bad ground? Thanks for any info: chazg.
