Hello all,

I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT non-sc 3.8 v6 and i am having problems with the MAF.the computer code is P0102 and i checked all the other thing i could to narrow it down and the MAF is bad.Is there a work around the MAF?i have it unpluged right now and idel varies 800 to 1100 rpm in park.not a bad idle but what else could i do.my question is: is there a way to cheat this thing insted of pay a load of money?

Nope. P0102 is the MAF sensor is not generating the proper frequency to the PCM module. The only work around is leaving it disconnected until you get a replacement. The idle may improve once the engine warms up. But you can run without the MAF connected with no other side effects other than poor fuel economy, etc.

Welcome to AF.

Just thought I'd let you know I had the same problem with my GP and I found a MAF at a salvage yard for $35.00. Works fine, may not last, who knows, but I did not have money for a new one at the time. It was hard to find though, 5th place I called had one. Good Luck!
