Delta HF Integrale

I can't believe that no one has posted on this fabulous machine!
A truly awsome car noted for its surefooted, predictable handling, the Delta employed a turbocharged FIAT twincam with 8v head on the earlier models and 16v head on the later models, all that power was transfered to the ground through a sophisticated all wheel drive system using fully mechanical differentials. All in all the HF Integrale racked up an incredible 27 world rally championship wins.

They absoloutey magnificant cars. The body looks mean and it has balls too. But apparently there have many problems in maintaining them and they must be started and warmed up (I wouldn't mind:)) to keep the engine lubricated so it stays in good condition. If i could get an early model in yellow i'd drop dead:) It's a pity their expensive and can't get them in Aussie.

If you're interested in the yellow ones, you should know that there were 2 yellow models produced, both limited editions:
1. Giallo Ferrari ('92)(also called Giallo Fly). 400 built. This is an EVO1 with black leather seats, although they are not very supportive when pushing the car
2. Giallo Ginestra ('93-94). 220 built, although many have been written off. This is the model I am looking for. It is an EVO2 with high back alcantaras, the interior is generally much nicer.

you should go for the later model as
1) better build quality (not as fragile)
2) bolder, nicer colour (according to every lancia fanatic i know)
3) nicer interior/more supportive seats
4) rarer, better resale value
not that i'd complain if you handed me the keys to either of them!

I have been to that link some time ago. If I remember correctly that car is a dragster. The 280BHP car I am talking about is a full rally car. I think it was raced by auriol. It is fully welded and all the rally parts used in the rally car are here.

I think any car with 700+bhp would be a dragster :D, but i think it can go around corners too

Do you mean the Fulvio Giuliani's Rocket??
The Lancia Delta is a cool car en with bit tuning its better!!!

crayzayjay
11-21-2001, 06:05 PM
I don't know if that's the 750bhp one, i just remember reading about it on Evocorner, i've posted the address earlier in this thread.
The Delta is a cool car but I would never tune it. Some things are best left untouched. It sounds silly to compare, but just like I wouldn't tune a Ferrari, I wouldn't tune an Integrale (unless I had 2, that is, ;) but then i'd still have to think about it.. )
I would never touch a limited edition EVO, and it really hurts to see one that has been modified... Look at it this way, an evo2 giallo is rarer than an F50!!
If i had to choose between them of course i'd go for the ferrari but theres no denying that integrale evo's are rare cars and will become collectors items fairly soon..
dont get me wrong, i m not completely against modified 'grales for racing and rallying, i think they should be non-evo, but rebodied and re-engineered 16v's! :D

Lancia has made my all time favorite rally machine. Too bad they are difficult to get in most parts of the world. Oh well, at least we can have fun with the one in GT3 (and it's a hell of a car too, even in just a video game).

While I love the Delta EVO series, my all time favourite Lancia will remain forever, the Stratos. That was just a cool car. When people see a Stratos, they always say "what the hell is that, some sort of Ferrari?" The driver says, "No, it's a Lancia."

The bystander replies, "what the hell is that, some sort of Ferrari?" :D

This is why I drive a 924. They don't know what it is, but they know it's a Porsche. :D

I know how difficult it is to find one, just making phone calls to the garages in Italy and you speak to some very misleading people!

Hello, I'm a newbie. I just thought I'd say I had a Evo 2 Gialla Ginestre a couple of months back and I have to say it was bloody gorgeous. I've sold it now and got an Integra Type-R but I miss my Lancia so much.
You wouldn't believe the looks I'd get when driving (did help only being 22) but unfortunately I had a high paranoia about breaking it and it becoming worthless. I'm in the UK and some guy in the states bought and he hadn't even seen it. I made a nice profit from aswell (makes a change).

crayzayjay
02-01-2003, 01:37 PM
A Giallo Ginestra! Wow i friggin love that car... as in, i am totally in love with it.. in fact, i saw one today parked in a garage.. it had 17" alloys in the same style as the factory alloys, i forget their name but those 17 inchers look fantastic on 'grales .... but why did you sell it, i cant believe you traded it for a Honda, as good as the Integra is!!! i know what you mean about paranoia, i could afford one but my dad's not too keen on it, and since he's coming up with half the funds it just wasnt going to work out... Still, im glad you enjoyed an absolutely wonderful car that one day i will have, unless i go for a Lagos Blu..

on a different note, its strange that an american guy has bought it off you, i thought they were very difficult to import into the states due to government regs and so on...

Not sure what the regulations are in the US, all that matters is that I made a profit. YAY! I sold through a Lancia Specialist called Tanc Barrett. He asked me how much I wanted for it and then did the rest. About 3 people were really interested in it, 1 from Australia and 2 from the US.
Mine was slightly modified running on Final phase springs, samco hoses and a chip pushing about 250bhp (I didn't know about this until the mechanic at Tanc Barrett test drove it). It was still on the standard 16's but they look great anyway. The only aftermarket wheels you should put on are the 17" speedlines (same as standards). Anything else and it tends to ruin the look. I'll have to try and scan some of my photos and post them.
I hope you do get one. It was always my dream to own one ever since I got my first car which was a Delta HF Turbo ie Martini Ltd editon. But also hope you gel to yours unlike I did with mine. Too be fair my integra could quite easily keep up with my Evo2 and do this without breaking down all the time, but the Integra will never be able to match the stop and stare, pick your jaw up off the floor looks of the Delta. NEVER!

crayzayjay
02-06-2003, 01:55 PM
17" Speedlines, those are the ones! :smoker2: sorry to hear you didnt gel with yours... at least you had one and made a nice profit passing it on :D

to be honest, i cant see how an Integra could keep up with a standard EVO let alone a 250bhp one... i know its a great car, but im still astounded at your statement!

Kaneda55
02-10-2003, 12:06 PM
No honestly, an Integra can quite easily keep up with a Evo on the twisty stuff. Off the mark acceleration is never going to be up the with Delta's but once you hit third gear and up an Integra can wipe a Delta, Pulsar, Cossie and even Scoobys (all un-tuned that is). You havn't got the weight that a 4x4 has to carry around and also a hell of a lot less transmission power loss. It feels really sluggish in the higher gears in a 4x4. In a 2 wheel drive it just pulls a lot better. Believe me! My mate has a 265bhp Pulsar Gtir and I'm as quick as that. Mind you I wouldn't like to be in an Integra on some gravely back lane kind of road against an Evo.:p

crayzayjay
02-11-2003, 04:32 PM
well well, the Integra's just gone up several notches in my estimations, and it wasnt badly placed to begin with... might have to book a test drive just to check it out :D

Jimster
04-03-2003, 02:41 AM
You Poms are lucky- you only get the Type R- not the silly little GSi's and bottom of the line ones- Integras with the B18c engine are very fast indeed- but they lack the presence of an Evo or a Cossie- those two cars are legends- they put all the other "hot" hatches to absolute shame

Impreza's and Evolution's however are reasonably good cars- but not a patch on Cossies and EVO's :D

Kaneda55
04-05-2003, 05:34 AM
Evo's are great cars! My friend had a Evo 6 Makkinen tuned to about 380bhp and boy was that quick, but cossies... I've never been a fan of them Jimster. If you lived in England you'd probably agree with me. It's not so much the car I hate it's more of the type of person that drives them. The culture in the UK around Ford RS's and Cossies is that no other car, no matter how much better they are, could beat their precious Ford. They are so narrow minded.
I know we all don't like our cars to be beaten by others but we know when we see a 800bhp R33gtr it would whup our ass! Not cossy owners in the UK. No they would insist that skyline engines are weak and wouldn't be able to take the power. I sh*! u not!
Anyway enough of my rant about cossies, cos at the moment I couldn't beat one even it's engine was in a zillion different pieces. I AM CARLESS! I got made redundant from Noble cars 6 weeks ago and I had to sell my Teg! :(

Well I was bought up in New Zealand- while I was growing up it was all about V8 Holdens and Fords (Aussie cars) but soon enough New Zealand was over-run by Evo's, Skylines, GTO/3000GT's, DOHC VTEC Hondas, RX7's, WRX STi's, 323 GTX's, Silvia's, Supra's Galant VR4's etc...............Anyway all the assholes bought these cars and think they are the shit in them- They are all like Cossie owners- except they own Jap cars- the funny thing was I beat a lot of them with my lard-assed Pug 6O7- they just were that useless at driving them- they are not true enthusiasts like Delta drivers often are

Sorry to hear about your redundancy man.............Why did they make you redundant?????

Just in case you didnt notice / know, we're in a Lancia forum here, which means EVO stands for Lancia Integrale Evolution.

It's shameful that people think of the sh*tsubishi when they hear EVO

Kaneda55
04-06-2003, 05:32 PM
Not quite sure why they made me redundant but in one day they almost halfed the workforce when they did away with 7 of us. I think there overheads were just to high.
The strange thing was only a week before they were all eager about us getting 4 cars out a week. Right now I doubt they'd be doing more than 2 a week. Not good for the customers.
On a different note I went to Santa Pod today (UK's most famous drag strip) where there was alot of Jap metal plus the usual yank "cubic capacity" machines, so I was very happy to see one Integrale 8v doing a couple of runs plus 2 Evo II's waiting in the car park. Unfortunately one of the Evo II's pulled out just before his run. I'm not sure what problem he had but it was a shame cos I've never seen one do a 1/4 mile yet. Anybody know what kind of times they're expected to run with about 250bhp?
I was even more surprised to see a Daihatsu charade GTti get a 15.2
This was better than the Beamer M3's and Saphire cosworths (this made my day:D ). Do you get those charades over in New Zealand Jimster? I had one when I was 19. A nice 1ltr 3cyl 12v with a HKS sequential dump valve. They're so much fun for the money!

P.S sorry crayzayjay. I will now refer to the Mitsi's as Lancer Evo's (does anybody else find it difficult trying to discuss Lancia Evo's & Lancer Evo's without somebody getting confused?)

crayzayjay
04-07-2003, 08:04 AM
Don’t worry about it, I just don’t think the EVO should be compared with the Lancer. There’s a gulf of class between the two, not to mention history. The Integrale is a legend. The Lancer is not on the same level, not by any means :D

I'm a proud owner of a bautiful lmtd ed. Lancia delta evoluzione hf integrale martini 6(the one white with the write Martini Racing on the spoiler and the side red-blue lines)
IT has now 420 Hp (tuned at B&M engineering, spent 10.000 $) and hasn't got nos!!

And about the Fulvio Giuliani's Delta, it has 550 hp without nos and 720 hp with it. It isn't only a drag race car, it's also a Hill climb car (It races against Alfa 155 DTM, Audi A4 Super Touring etc. and it usually wins when it doesn't broke something (You know how are the higly tuned cars:rolleyes:   , mine is twice a month at the mechanic:( :( )

Hello,

I've just 'surfed on in'. I would agree that the Integrale is one of the best 'real world' drivers cars around. I currently have both an Evo 1 Edition Ronald Holzer (No 1 of 8 built) in Holzer Yellow. This car is heavily modified (suspension, wheels, high spec engine, chargecooler, bespoke 3in1 radiator/oil cooler/chargecooler rad, Accusump, baffled sump, MoTeC M4E Pro race engine management system, large injectors, hybrid turbo, F40 front brakes...and probably a couple of things I have forgotten)..and is a superb drive. The spec is not the original 'Holzer' spec, I have modified it further.

I also have a 'normal' 16V in Monza Red, plus a few other Grales for spares.

I'm also one of the moderators on the Evocorner forum, which has a thriving Grale community:

http://forums.delphiforums.com/evoforum/start

So, crayzayjay, have you found your ideal Grale yet, or does your quest continue?

Good luck and all the best.

Your car hasn't the "right hand drive" ?

HOLZEREVO
07-16-2003, 03:58 PM
Michael,

Thanks. No, my car is left hand drive...just as it left the factory. They were never officially produced in right hand drive. All official dealer Integrale sales in the UK were sold as left hand drive. You will find a few right hand drive examples, but these have been carried out by aftermarket specialists.

Neil

hi all

I'm also from the Evoforum that Neil mentioned.

It's worth adding that the right hand drive models are compromised in terms of steering and brake feel as the conversions (even the best ones) are not very well done.

If anyone is interested in buying an Integrale they should read the forum that Holzerevo mentioned - the FAQ contains years of experience of passionate, knowledgeable enthusiasts.

With regard to previous postings about Mits Evo - they are good cars and are to be respected but imo they don't have the character of the Integrale. It should be said that they do have some characteristics that the Integrale doesn't have - like electrics that are likely to work! :)

cheers

No No the 750bhp evo2 was indeed a rally car..

Outlawed from competition due to its ungodly power and the fact that it would fly off the course and killed many spectators..

The engine was a twin turbo / intercooled model..

You can find alot of info about it at this website.
