buying an suv

I am looking into buying an SUV next year, and so far the one I like the best is the Isuzu Axiom. It has great safety and navigational features, and it doesn't seem as bulky as some of the other SUVs on the market.
I was just wanting to know what others think of it, so if you could give me some opinions, it would be much appreciated.

I hope you aren't living in Europe 'cause here driving a SUV is rediculous, gas is very expensive:(

Well can i ask how much you have to spend?? Thats usually a big factor in what to choose and also for what purpose?

Yeah How much are you planning on spending? And what are you planning on doing with it? I would recommend the Acura MDX as a good all around one thats not too badly priced.

I'd hesitate before buying an Axiom. Anytime a new vehicle is produced reliability is going to below par for that particular marquee...when dealing with Isuzu, which already has questionable reliability, you could be asking for trouble.

Oddly enough, I've seen 3 Axioms on the road already. Impossible you say? They don't go on sale for months you say? Haha, the advantage of going to school in West Lafayette, Indiana....home of Isuzu manufacturing. Saw 2 of them driving north on I-65 last summer, and another in December.

You must understand that the Axiom is still very much a Rodeo. A Rodeo with a makeover. I, personally, find them unattractive. Safety? Probably improved over the Rodeo, but the Rodeo itself wasn't exactly a 5-star suv.

Man I hate SUV. You better be a good driver. Like Friday night I was doing around 120mph when a SUV ford something f6cking cuts me off and I had to brake hard and change lanes to miss it. You better not be on of those drivers.

First of all...whose the unsafe driver if you're going 120 mph on a public road?

Anyways...I read a couple of good reviews on the Axiom. I haven't seen one yet, but then again I don't think they've come on the market quite yet. Is this what they brought Joe Isuzu back for?

I am a safer driver then most f6cking people on the road. I am safer driving 120mph then the guy next to me that is doing half of that. It is assholes that enter the highway and cut across three lanes and cut right afront of me with out there turn signal. When I drive I use my turn signal everytime no matter if I am doing 20 or 120. Have a nice day. :)

the problem with SUVs is that they psychologically distance you from the plight of other drivers around you. I have a few friends who own SUVs, and these are sweet people; compassionate, kind, etc., but when they drive their SUVs they think nothing of tailgating some poor bloke in a VW rabbit so that their headlights utterly rape the visibility of the other drivers & block all chance of the VW driver being able to see anything to change lanes, turn, or even keep from getting a splittling headache.

In a recent poll, 68% of people considered themselves to be better than average drivers.

I don't care what the "safety reports" say about SUV's being safe. I feel much safer driving my 3000 lb STi or 2100 lb Miata being able to avoid or stop for unexpected circumstances than I ever have driving a 5000 lb truck or SUV (SUV being a BMW X5, one of the better handling, better braking SUV's). The reasons SUV's are better in crash tests is that they have more mass. What they don't take into account is that you're far less likely to be able to avoid a bad situation.

This thread died 2 years ago. The thread starter, asking for advise, only has one post. He probably never even read any of the replies 2 years ago.
Let dead threads lie.....and how did you even find it, anyway.
