96 monte LS...weird smell

When ever i go up hills at slow speeds my car starts to emmit a weird smell from the exhaust...also it is hesitant to start sometimes. wehn i hit the keys the first time it turns over but it seems like something is holding it back it won't start the first time unless i hold the key for like 3 sec but it fires right up the second time...any ideas?

i just had one like a month ago could it my my cat plugged. i put an exhaust tip that was like a mini glass pack on my car and it seems like it started doing it after i put it on its been taken off

Will it start better if you put it to the floor while cranking? It might be flooding.

Sounds like a plugged cat to me. What does it smell like? Might smell like rotten eggs. If you end up changing out the cat or cats get a high flow cat. It will gain a lil hp not alot and will keep the car smog legal...

Yeah id take a higher flowing cat over a stock one because you can usually find an aftermarket one for cheaper.. but so far I havent heard a good sounding v6 Monte.
