Got a 94 grand am gt 3.1L v6.
Started overheating, coolant all over underneath.
Found the source of the leak, more like a small spray when you give it some throttle.
I cant tell if its the head gasket or what. But its definetaly coming from a gasket.
I took some pictures but its hard to see, I tried pointing to the area best I could.
Was quoted just over $1000 to fix it if its a head gasket. (Includes sending heads off to shop)

I have a haynes manual but it really doesnt show much in ways of details. Is this one of the head gaskets? Its not the freeze plug looking thing, but where the green line is.

From what I can see from these photos, my best guess is that your intake gaskets have failed. There is also a heater pipe that goes along the top of the intake (not really visable without removing upper intake) I have seen these get pinhole leaks also. The best thing to do is remove the upper intake and pressure test the system this will nail down the leak.

In your pics there is a heater pipe restrictor valve. The restrictor vavles are known to corrode and spray coolant. Usually the leak right at the intake and if it is leaking be careful removing it, they break easy. Grab a mirror and check under the restrictor valve.

I removed one of the cylinder heads off my 97, 3.1 and let me tell you it was one of the most consuming job I have ever done. I can see why the job will cost around $1,000
