Why did you order a front clip if i may ask. Does the japense GTO have the same sexy ass 1st gen front end as the euro? Going to do RHD swap or just wanted the JDM motor?

yeah sorry I don't recall exactly why you needed it either? Spin a bearing or something? good luck

well i am doing the clip cause i need a motor and tranny cause the crank walked on my old motor and i sold my tranny to buy a truck to get around so i need both and I want to do a rhd but i am not going to say that i am untill i see the clip.. if it looks as good as he said it does then i am all over that. i just hope it turns out good in the end!

ummm...if you want to do a RHD conversion, then you'll need the RHD dash...which is NOT included in a front clip. guess you're outta luck there.

most clips come with the dash.. this one does.. anyways yeah lots of people think its stupid to do the RHD in a LHD community.. and by all means im not thinking its going to be easyer or better to drive. just fun to drive. as far as pointless goes.. i would do it to be different.. you know.. have somthing that no one around here has.. but to each his own

Ok so i called osaka today and they gave me the tracking number and i called to see what day it would be getting here to find out that it is being shipped to some place called roy utah.. some place like 2 hours north of me!! they have the right adress but the wrong zip code or somthing.. the guy with yellow transport told me that i have to pay a 45 doller charge to correct it.. and i was like hell no so i called osaka and they looked at there shipping invoice and that had the right adress and zip so i called yellow transport again and talked to a nice lady that told me she would get it all fixed and would not charge me anything but it is going to be 2 days till she gets the bill of laiting (or somthing like that) so we will see what happends

Ok so i got all the bugs in the shipping worked out! the clip will be here on friday!! I am getting so excited! i got a good deal from what i have seen i spent 3000 after shipping.. i will post some pictures and everything when it gets here.. the only problem i have now is that i dont have any way to get it home... I shipped it to autozone (Where i work) cause i can use the forklift to get it off the truck.. anyways i was planning on borrowing my dads truck and trailer cause my little mitsubishi mighty max doesnt have a trailer wire harness.. but the crazyest thing happend.. my dad lives up on the mountain like way up there and they are building a house about 200 yards above him and putting in a big retaining wall and one of the big ass rocks broke loose and rolled down the hill and took out the back of his porche and his brand new F150 that i was going to use.. i guess thats what he gets for buying a ford... i will see if i can get pictures of that too

So my clip came in today.. its FUCKING PERFECT!!! the dash is great! It came with every thing! The hole dash.. pedles.. every thing.. hood bumper all the cv hafshafts rotors motor trany.. it has 131k kilometers so what... 75k miles? but i was planning on doing the T belt and water pump and stat as well.. i also go some plugs.. so i will swap them out too.. I am very pleased so far.. lets see what happends when i open up the TB cover.. i hope there is nothing wronge with the motor. but with how clean it looks.. im not worried.. ok so when it got here we got the fork lift and he put it on my trailer and the tires just went flat! haha so i had him lift each side for a minute and i filled them with a lot of pressure and then drove home at a good 25 mph.. not that my truck could go much faster.. but still.. now i cant get it off the trailer.. i will have to try some more tomorrow.. anyways i will get some pictures up here tomorrow as well

in addition to changing the timing belt, accesory belts, water pump, thermostat, i would strongly advise you to do a leakdown test and compression test.

Today I pulled the motor and tranny out of the clip.. It came with no real problems.. just kinda a pain getting that rear motor mount. I am doing the RHD conversion.. i can see a lot of problems comming my way.. but it will be worth it.. I will post a some pictures as soon as i can find my camera.. There are some big differences in the usdm and jdm models.. I need to order the window switches for the doors cause they will be swapped.. and i need the active aero and cruse control switch panal.. and last thing i will need i think is the botom of the shift boot the plactic part that clips into the floor panel.. any one know where i can order these parts? from NZ or japan.. or wherever? Also i have herd about some exhaust systems that have the option to open and close the downpipe? I have not found any info on this though i looked all over stealth316.com but didnt see anything making me dout.. There is a switch on my clip that has the option of normal or silent?

its called "active exhaust" and its a standard feature on your 92 VR4. simply routes the exhaust gases through one of the two tail pipes, or through both.

nice pics!
question: how did the front clip arrive at your workplace? was it wrapped somehow to protect the interior & dash from the elements? i assume it was on a crate? just curious.
you've got quite a few extra parts you can sell to make some of your money back. allow me to be the first to contribute. i remember there's a new guy here to the 3/S forums on AF and he was looking for a passenger turn signal for his 92 SL.
also, could i have the driver side foglight (LHD, that is, so looking at the car from the front, its the one to your right) ? $40 shipped?
you can also sell those headlights, snake eye lenses, bumper, fenders, hood, some of the fluid reservoirs and various miscellaneous lines in the engine bay. oh, a friend of mine needs a front wiper motor. how much do you want for it?
didn't mean to turn this thread into a "part ur car out" thread. perhaps you could start another thread for those transactions...if you like. just trying to help you out. keep the pics rolling!

Yeah it was shipped on a rather large pallet.. it was a odd shaped one... and hard to get off the truck.. it had a lot of plastic rap around it to protect every thing.. and there where some added parts he through in there under the dash and under the shrink rap.. like the srs air bad box and some other little clips.. I still need the bottom of the shift boot for the RHD cars.. and the window switch's for each of the doors cause there swaped.. i also need the cruse control/active aero switch panal.. oh oh and the ebreak asembly.. but I think that I have every thing else that i need.. The only other weird thing is that i have not found the side mirrors ajustment panal.. the jdm one is not in the same place as the usdm one.. so not sure what i plan to do about that yet.. anyways i will get some better pictures as i put this back togeather... Yeah i will sell a bunch of stuff after i am done.. i just want to make sure every thing works before i sell off everything.. but i will save that fog for you asuming my works fine still
