95 Jeep 2.5 cyl mfi running problems

I just bought a 95 jeep from a third party and am having engine problems. Whenever I accelerate, the engine seems to stutter and kind of loses power. Not really bucking so much as a small stutter. If anyone has ever had a bad fuel filter, then you know what this feels like. Also when I stop the engine idles fine, though it kind of bogs down every once in a while, but never dies. I have alread replaced:

fuel filter (duh)
spark plugs
air filter
oil
spark plug wires
distributor cap
rotor

All the jolly stuff you should do anyway when buying a used car. I noticed the problem before, and it's more annoying than anything. Gas mileage is down the tubes too, especially for a brick on wheels; something around 11 miles to the gallon. What I could glean from my Haynes manual pointed at a faulty injector, and I will listen to them tommorow, but I need some kind of input from another jeep owner.
btw it passed smog just fine, and had to pass California's strict smog regulations.

Ok as of today, the injectors all sound like they are working fine. Does anyone know if I should adjust the valves or something? I think a diagnostic test is in my future, which means I have to go pay a mechanic to look at my car! Aaaaarrrggghhhhhh:banghead:

Go to Autozone and see if its throwing any codes, they'll hook it up for free.

ok heres the low down on your problem... i have a 95 yj i guess the same one as you its in my pics but n e way i had the same exact problem ... i also replaced most of the same things but the problem never got any better.....I work in wal-mart tire and lube express and we have this treatment for $19.88 its called a "gumout" treatment .... they hook up a little canister full of some kind of chemical to your jeep's vaccuum lines and it runs that stuff directly into your fuel injectors then later they rev up the motor to clean all the junk out of it ..... after they done this to my jeep all my problems including the sputtering like you described went away completely .... i'm not joking so you really should have this done it helped my fuel economy now i get about 75 or 80 extra miles to a full tank and i got rid of the sputtering and it restored lost power look into this!!! any wal-mart supercenter with a tire and lube express can do this .... let me know how it goes for you
