I've got a 1999 GMC Suburban 5.7 liter k-1500
Keep getting a service engine light
Puts out code 1345.
Comes right back on after clearing it with the Actron scanner.
CKP\CMP Corelation
Anybody know what that code and description means?
Can't pass State inspection with that dam code in there.
I need some help.
Thanks
VINNY

Any body tried to time this engine recently or work on the distributor?

Diagnostic aids for DTC P1345:
1. A loose CMP sensor causing a variance in the sensor signal.
2. Excessive free play in the timing chain and gear assy.
3. Incorrectly installed distributor-1 tooth off in either direction.
4. Loose distributor rotor.
5. Loose or missing distributor hold down bolt.

Yes,
I did have the distributor out. I replaced the head gaskets and intake gasket.
I thought I hade the distributor on top dead but I must be off a bit.
Didn't have any service code before tking the engine apart. I must have the timing off like you say.
I will also check my connections on the crank sensor.
I did find an older post from 2005 that helped me out. It had a lot of info on this.
Sound like that guy had the same problem after reinstalling the distributor.
I haven't had time to look at it all week. I am going to try to get at it this week.
I will let you guys know how I make out.
Thanks for the help.
Vinny.
