direct replacement?????

I have an 01 jetta 1.8t. I was told that the turbo impeller is broken and it has no boost. The dealership said it needed a new turbo and they could do it for $2300. I found one off a turbo beetle 1.8t. The guy says it is a k-03 turbo. Will this be a direct replacement?? Please anyone help me with facts and not " it should, I think so" Thank you very much

as long as the engine code is the same you should be ok. either "atw" or "awp" are the engine codes
