There is also a Jatco produced CVT (http://www.just-auto.com/factsheet.aspx?id=149) available with the 2.0-litre petrol engine and that makes the Qashqai the first Renault to get it. Is it a shrewd move, in Europe, where CVTs have had limited success, asks CSM Worldwide analyst Chris Guile?

Billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian has cancelled plans to buy more General Motors shares due to his displeasure at the firm ending alliance talks with Renault and Nissan, according to media reports.
