01 Cavalier Z24 ABS

I just put new pads and rotors on my 2001 Cavalier Z24 because the old ones were worn out. I put them on regularly, and everything seemed to be working fine for about 30 mins. When I went to use the brakes again it made a weird technical ABS kind of sound and my ABS dash light came on. I tested it, and I do not have ABS when the light comes on...so it's not lying. The light will go off when I turn my car on, but as soon as I use my brakes a few times it will make the same sound...sort of a buzz, and then the ABS light will come on again. I searched the forums, and I couldnt find anything. The only thing I found was that when you push the piston back with a c clamp, you should take the top off the brake fluid reservoir. I didnt take the top off it when i pushed my pistons back, maybe this messed something up? Any help would be greatly appreciated, it is driving me crazy to know the fix.

Mine does the same thing. 2001 Sunfire 2.2L. It gets worse as time goes by. Mine does it sometimes when taking off very slowly, foot not on the brakes at all. I am going to have the back brakes checked soon. I replaced the front pads hoping it would help, but no luck. I hope someone knows. My traction and service soon lights also come on when this happens.

There are two separate problems here.

First, matthewdaye may have air in the system.

Second, homerr may have a wheel speed sensor problem, most likely it is a wheel sensor not reporting for any number of reasons.

In either case, the ABS control module should have a stored error code(s). Retrieve the code(s) and that should indicate the problem.

Do you mean air in the regular brake lines? Or is there some other seperate system for the ABS that would have air in it?
