I would like to know if there is suppost to be any play in the differntail pin holding in the spyder gears ? and if there is play, is because the smaller retaining pin is worn ? or should I just rebuilt / replace the entire unit, or hit it up with the welder so the pin will never leave me stranded again ? it's on a A604, 41TE Differential assembly from a 1997 caravan and I've already had the pin come out on a trannsmission like this one only it was a 1999 model.
TIA..

Some rebuilders automatically weld it in place cuz of the known issues
