'93 (3.1L). I had let my lumina set for a few days without driving it and when I started driving it again it's been acting weird. It starts up just fine and drives like normal; the problem is that when I come to a stop, the car acts like it wants to lunge forward...it's like I'm giving it gas but I'm on the brake. Anyone got a clue on this one? It's done it a few times in the last week or so. Also when I come to a stop, sometimes it acts like it wants to die, it doesn't but it feels like it could. Thanks

Sounds like how they act when the idle memory is lost after a power down...you didn't have to jump start it or anything, right?

PS, the TPS is suspect here too...

Add the IAC valve sticking and a vacuum leak to the things to check.

I haven't jumped my vehicle since a couple months ago when I stupidly left the lights on (don't do that very often, but my dinger doesn't work). I just let it sit without starting for a few days. I noticed last night, that when I came to a stop the instrument lights dimmed and brightened while it was doing the weird revving thing. Do you guys think it could be the alternator or battery? They each have over 70K on them. Isn't there an Idler valve or something that can be cleaned?? Thanks!
oh yeah, there it is plain as day, "IAC" sorry!

hadn't really paid much attention to it. It seems to do it mainly cold. Whenever I first start it up, it does it. It really doesn't seem to do it as much when it's warmed up. Do you think it could be time for new plugs & wires?? I know that they have over 80K on them, so...???
