removing the control unit is not hard. you have to remove the dash trim panel (just pops loose) that inludes the headlight switch, vents, etc. you will know what im talking about when you look at it. then there are 4 7 or 8mm bolts holding in the control unit. unplug it and install is just the reverse.

thanks for the reply.......i just dont want to brake any parts
i couldnt see any screws on the trim thats what messed me up
so if i got you right the trim runs all the way accross to the
controls left and right side-meaning leftside of steering wheel-and rightside of steering wheel(where the controls are)
- one piece which snaps in place? correct?
once again thanks

yea the trim piece runs from the light/defrost/wiper controls under the steering column and around the radio/hvac controls and includes the 4x4 switch. u can probably pop it loose by hand or with a screw driver. it will not come completely off but u don't need it completely off. once you pop it loose, turn the key to the first notch and pull the shifter down to 1st to get some extra leverage with the trim piece. its good to have another set of hands to hold the trim piece back (not to far or it could break) while you remove the hvac controls.
when you put it back together, check to see if all of your conectors for the 4x4, headlights, rear hatch, etc are still in place.

ok on my 1995 s10 blazer....not even close......lol
on mine all i had to do was take 4 philip screws out
and the controls were loose ,the fan switch is held in with 1- 1/4 screw and the electical connector , now the question is how to get the cluster controls out...looks like theres a cable and somemore electical connections
and on the right side of the control is some vacum lines. cant seem to get the control out far enough to work on it......im guessing the cable needs to come off?
but see no way to unhook it.....any advise?
TIA
