I have a 2000 ls 4 door. When i turn on the key to start the car the right rear windo starts to go down and the airbag light is on. I can put the window back up but there seems to be a problem. Any help appreciated. I will try to get more info to explain more.

thanks

Does the window motor seem to be what is causing the window to go down, or does it appear to be sliding down? Does the window operate normally via the switch (both up and down)?

As for the airbag light, does it start out by flashing, then stay on solid? It is probably flashing out a diagnostic Lamp Flash Code (LFC) when you first turn the key to run. Count the flashes, separated by long and short pauses, and post them here.

If you need more details on counting the LFCs, search this forum as this has been addressed numerous times.

Back to my Window problem The car is my daughters and now she tells me the passenger window will not go up at all its in the down position. I finally got to look at the situation and it does not look good. Seems you cant control any windows from the driver side, but you can control the windows from its own switch. But not the drivers at all. I checked all the fuses and all seem to be good. Is there a master fuse or some master control box for the driver side. Im going to have to take off the driverside door panel and hot wire the driver side window to get it up in the closed pos until i find what is the problem. Hope someone can help.

thanks

You mentioned that the passenger window is in the down position and won't move, did you really mean the driver's window, or do you have two windows that won't go up?

If the passenger window is also in the down position, but you can hear the motor working, then you probably have a bad window regulator.

As for the driver's door switches not controlling any windows, I can provide you with the wiring diagram for the windows if you would like. Send me a private message with your request and an e-mail address for you that can accept PDF attachments. It will be for the 2002 model year, but should line up with your 2000 pretty closely.

It would appear that if the driver's window motor does not work, and that switch doesn't control any of the other windows, but the switches at the individual windows do work (sans the driver's), then the most likely culprit would be the Driver Door Module or the 20-ampere fuse for the Driver Door Module which is located in teh Battery Junction Box in the spare tire well.

is the driver door module the switch panel or is there some other control panel you are talking about?

thanks

It's a separate module, independent of the master switch control, mounted in the door.

Does anyone know where i can get a used or a remanufactured Driver Door Module for a lincoln 2002 ls? This controls all the windows from the master driver door switches. Im thinking this is my problem. View my post above.

thanks for the replys
