93 OLDS Cutlass Supreme
VIN "T"
140k miles

PROBLEM:
It seems that when the engine gets up to operating temperatures the engine stalls. it does not do this everytime though. I also noticed a few times that the engines rpms jump around a little before it stalls. After the stall I can restart the engine but it runs rough with the rpms jumping until it stalls again. After so many stalls its complete dead until it cools down again. The check engine soon light also comes on with "code 42" that deals with the icm. I am completely stumped as to what the problem is. Please help.

REPLACED:
Crackshaft position sensor
ignition control module
plugs and wires (10k ago)
fuel filter

I found the problem.... apparently the wire loom that connects to the crankshaft sensor to the ignition control mod was burnt through and the wires that connects to the crankshaft sensor were also stripped. so i taped the wires and replaced the loom. so far it seems to be running fine.

Good work, common problem, often missed and/or misdiagnosed.
