If the lever came out in one piece, and didnt break, look around on the floorboard for the roll pin that holds it in place. It may still be in the hole in the column. There were a few years there that ford had a problem with them staying in. You should be able to stick the lever back in the hole, and gently wiggle it till it goes in place. Have a roll pin handy, or you can use a small bolt to get by if you cant find the pin. Once you get the lever back in the hole, stick a small screwdriver in the hole temporarily, and make sure it shifts ok, before you drive the roll pin in.
