what would i have to do if i wanted a fully built engine capable of high revs for entended periods and higher power, of course.
are there reliablity issues with building an engine up?
what parts would people recommmend?
i basically want an engine that i dont have to worry about blowing up by racing or whatever.

To build up an engine you need new pistons, rods, cams, and new valve springs and retainers. JE forged pistons are really popular and then for rods crower and eagle make good rods. Extreme motor sports and some other places sell upgrade head hardware (cams, valves, valve springs, retainers) but its best to just buy and upgraded head that comes with all that plus porting and a fresh valve job. Buschur racing sells upgraded long and short blocks that would pretty much cover anything you wanted.

would i expect any reliablity issues with the parts figuring they were all installed correctly?
should i just save my money up and wait till i break something?
also another side note, how big are the 1g gas tanks, well a 1990 fwd gst?

if you want a great race motor, dont worry about rpm's,stroke that puppy to 2.3 liters, youll have the kick of a turbo and the low torque from your stroker kit.great for drag racing
