HERE ya go if this helps????????

1995-1997? Jetta III This is the Jetta most people see on the roads because there are so many of them running around. The standard engine in these years was still the weak 115hp 2.0 litre. But the good news was in GLX trim you could get the very powerful 178 hp 2.8 litre VR6. The VR6 in the Jetta made it a contender with cars with names like Maxima, Camry, and even some BMW's.

YOU HAVE A MAX TAKE IT OUT!!!!!!!!

The 178 hp, 2.8l vr6 is a potent engine for a car than only weighs 2928 pounds, and although I do not know the exact 0-60 time, i think it is around 6.8 (5sp) whereas the official 0-60 time for a 4th gen Max (5sp) is 6.6 So, by straight numbers, you should be a little faster. in any case, it would be a good race:bandit:

All things being equal (i.e. you have a stock automatic, and he has a stock automatic, and you guys have equally matched driving talent) then you should be able to take him, but not by much.:)

yeah, a maxima should be able to take one of those as well, probably easier than a jetta VR6:cool:
