91 stalling problem recurs, this time with no service engine light

Friends, I've been having this intermittent stalling-and-weakness problem on our 91 Bonneville (192k miles). It had been throwing code 41. Took to mechanic last week, they replaced some bad wiring from cam sensor. Believed the problem was solved. But Saturday, I was driving along, and thought I noticed the engine lose power. Seemed okay for a moment or two, and then it started unmistakably losing power. I got it into a parking spot at gas station where it died (this in heat of day, about 100 degrees here in Phoenix). Tried to start it 1.5 hours later, wouldn't start. Went back in evening (5 hours from original stall) and drove it 1 mile home. But it still wasn't running normally. If I gave it aggressive pedal (to accelerate), it would start stalling, but if I just lightly gave it pedal, it would run along okay. The service engine light did not come on at all. Folks, any ideas and/or guidance would be most appreciated indeed!! I am wondering if it might be the fuel pump perhaps??

Thanks so much!
Dave
