98 contour running rough

i have a 98 contout that is running rough i replaced the timing belt on car the
but now my scanner is giving me

P0340 - camshaft positn sensor A-bank 1 circuit malfuntion could someone tell me what this means i but a new sensor for thinking that thats what is was but i get the same results cars still run rough with check engine still on with same code thank u

Timing could be off.

could u tell how to find the marks on this motor (VCT MOTOR )

i looked all over the pulley and could find any mark on them for the marks on the outside and the inside of the pulleys thank u

Only way to find out is to take the valve cover off and check the slits in the end of the cams when the pistons are TDC
