SLR AAL problem

I just got done (not really) with my SLR AAL instalation. After finishing one side and moving on to the other. As I was compressing the OE springs and the AALs together with the C-clamps I would tighten the center bolt (round head) along with them. I was using the bolt and nut that came with the SLR AALs. As I tightened, I noticed the bolt stripping and going nowhere. So I cut it off and used another nut on the remaining bolt, again, it happened. I scowered the town looking for a 10mm X 1.25 thread nut, finally found one and thought it was fixed. It turns out that the ut was too big in diameter for the plate to fit back on!!!
So, for a temp fix (so I can drive to get more bolts while the wife takes the other car to work) I just used the stock bolt and stripped a nut (that didn't fit) onto it as far as I could. below is the final product. The nut didn't go on far, but went on and is holding.
My question is: Is this ok, or do I need to get the correct nut and get it al put on tight? I probably already know the answer, but tought I would ask ad also see if anyone else had this problem.. Also, does anyone know where I can get the stock nut and bold overnighted to fix this problem?

My only problem with the SLR AAL's was that they shipped them unpackaged! The center bolts got damaged in shipment! So I took them out and down to the local suspension shop and they gave me replacement bolts and nuts! That may be your best bet! The bolts and nuts The suspension shop gave me were U.S. and not metric.

I will see if I can find the bolts and nuts, Im kinda concerned about removing the ubolts so many times, I don't want to screw anything else up!!!
I drove it to work, rides great, a little rough, but I like it..

If you have forced a nut on there that doesn't fit, I would definitely replace the centerbolt. And if you are at all not confident about the u-bolts replace them too. These items are cheap as compared to something failing or you worrying about them.

Yeah, I would replace the u-bolts as well. I remember Ian saying they are designed to be used only once. I know people have used them again after AAL's, but taking them on and off over and over creates a higher risk for something you're really depending on. Plus as Synchro says, they're cheap.
