manifold problems

i just replaced the intake manifold on my 94 3.4 camaro, and now it wont run right. im wondering if there is a fuel problem since i had to take the fuel rail out to replace the manifold. i know that the gasket is seated properly, and all of the vacuum lines are in place. is there any procedure i have to follow to repressurize the fuel system? i dont kneed to prime the fuel rail or anything do i? the engine vibrates horribly at idle, and has almost no power while driving, and the entire car shudders when i step on the gas. its almost as though the car were running lean. please help!

Those simptoms kinda sound like a spark plug wire is arcing, or one that's not completely on the plug. Check to see if one of them isn't on all the way or if one is burnt through. I know the plugs aren't related to the manifold, and if everything is ok with them than that's one thing you can rule out. Why did you have to replace the intake manifold?

Do you mind me asking why you had to change the intake manifold to begin with?

i just replaced the wires today, as i was thinking on the same lines as you. no change in the condition, though i still havent gotten around to pull the plugs themselves, or checking out the coil packs. i also noticed a small vacuum leak today that i hope to have fixed by tomorrow. i had to replace the manifold because the old one was cracked near the throttle body, and the tension on the throttle body bolts finally broke a large chunk off.

You didn't cross-wire it, did you?

no, all the wires are on the right plugs...

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Double check to ensure the correct gaskets were properly installed.

its the right gasket, and it did go on right. i did find a vacuum leak yesterday but i havent gotten out to the store to buy a new part yet should be done today... ill let you know

ahh... found the problem (i hope!). after reading a thread on another forum, i decided to check all the fuses pertaining to the ignition system, and stumbled over a blown fuel injector fuse. should have it fixed within the hour. thanks for all the help!

I'd make sure a injector wire wasn't pinched somewhere. They very rarely blow for no reason..
