My friend tells me that such a motor exists that is a 632 and that some dude has it in a '67 camaro that has like 1200 hp.....is this totally bogus or true? I don't know much about big block muscle car engines. He said he saw it in a summit racing catalogue, but I don't know if it is true or not.

632 cubic inches?

Its possible, but its no GM block, its most likely a Donovan block or a Merlin II block.

there are blocks that are 570ci, 640ci, 702ci, 805ci for the power hungry.

So yes its entirely possible to have a 632ci engine. making 1200hp? Yes its entirely possible.

But i wouldnt believe it till i saw it in person, plus its very cool to see something with that big of an engine run...run meaning not race, but actually just run.... ahhh the smell of race gas... and cam overlap... YUM!

637 damn thats a big engine, yeah you wouldn't find that to order from GM, even back then. What was the biggest they offered anyways? All I know that were the biggest were the 454 and the 427.

The biggest would be the 500 inch Cadillac motor. You can really get some cubes out of big blocks...

man, that makes me want to start a project car of my own. I like how he listed how much everything cost in the specifications page.

Yea the 502 caddy engine was the largest production motor for a very long time, I am not sure if there has yet to been a engine to beat it.

btw, the 2003 Viper is 505ci.

Well, the 570ci motor you can now order in a wooden box straight from GM. Got to love it eh?

the Donovan 702 is primarily used in semi-pro drag racing or most likely in open class offshore powerboat racing. the 805ci motor is actually a bored out 750ci block. which is used mainly once again in offshore power boat racing.

At the last boat show a company was advertising these... toys... for sale. and a 750ci block, JUST the BLOCK with nothing in it. Just a slab of metal with 8 holes in it. was $2200. a complete motor would probably set you back $20,000 - $30,000. But then again these are for people who make mega-dollars racing these boats.

But for the average Joe-Racer like us, the tried and true 454 will still get your kicks going no matter what. the Ford 460 aint bad, but i prefer my Chevy's.

The 502 is a Chevy, the caddy is 500 ci. Sounds like a Bill Mitchell Monster Merlin. It could be a Dart M block though. Either way, that is'nt too abnormal for domestic crate egines. There is a company that makes an all aluminum block based on a chevy design available up to 1000ci. A pump gas 800+ ci model made 900 hp and 1000ft. lbs n/a.

I'm not surprised that Viper engine is that big. Thats pretty wicked, 500 hp, 500 lbs of torque. Man imagine a day when Corvettes and Vipers are starting to push over 600 hp from the factory. Watch something stupid happen for example the smog regulations of the 70's and we all end up driving electric cars. That would suck....

actually its about 450 or so if im not correct, the 03 concept is the big 500ci,500hp,500ftlbs

and that era seems long gone, i wish the days when $2000 got you a brand new GTO with a big block (saw it on the history channel :p). that'd be nice.

theres not many cars these days that you can do a burn out right on your way out of the dealership...

The current viper makes 500, but is rated at 450. They have dynoed at 424 to the wheels. Considering a 15% loss in the drivetrain, that would be about 499hp.

Yeah, thats what I was talking about. It's not actually 500ci as they say it is, just a little over but who cares really.

So you're saying the 02 Viper makes 500 hp? I dunno about that, why would they advertise the 03 making 500 hp then? I'd ask Viper 10 about that before I made a statement like that. He knows all about them, and naturally owns a first gen Viper.

If they underrated the 02, why not underrate the 03? The original Viper with the side pipes was uunderrated to pass epa noise regulations. Apparently they test for noise at the power peak, so Dodge advertised peak power at a lower rpm. I mean, why not. No one is going to be pissed about getting more from their car than is advertised.

My fiance's brother has a 1975 Cadillac Sedan Deville, has the stock engine in it......513ci....but, for a car thats like 19ft8in long, it better have a big engine in it:D
