Adjusting headlight beams

I changed bulbs the other day and I know I have the headlight back in correctly but it looks like the aim is off. I see two beams and I am pretty sure they should intersect to make one big beam. I have read how to adjust the beams all over the 'net but what I was wondering is how much should the beams overlap in front of the car.

Hey Tony.
IMO IT vairies on personal preferance how much and where they overlap.
I do alot of county road driving, so I tend to hav mine lighting up the ditches , while maintaining the brightness of the beams on the roadway.
I just set my lights up where I can see far enough ahead I'm not overdriving my Low beam lights @ 60mph.
If everyone is giving me the brights when I hav the dims on, I might try and move the left HL beam to the right(so I'm not blinding on comers).
So times tho the dang adjusters break or dont work proper then you are stuck with them the way they are.

OK, makes sense. I wasn't sure either about how high the beam is supposed to be (standard). More than likely as much as you want without ticking other drivers off. And yes, I have one screw on each light that is stripped...what a pain in the butt. I thought about ordering some new ones but they are expensive!

Ys I havnt seen most adjusters even available in stores or the dealer :shakehead
My GT when I turn on of the screws half of the head just snapped right off and it wont turn :banghead:
So it kinda shines in the oncoming traffics face
Once in a while I'll see people holding thier hand up to shade thier eyes, gotta love Sylvania silverstars :D
