What kind of paints are are thinking about using? Most of the guys here will spray withTamiya's Lacquer based sprays. They come out very well when used in the right temperature, humidity, and proper preparation of primer/ plastic. There's a thread about geting started at the top of the modeling forum. Check it out. Jay has organized some of the most helpful stuff for all beginners. Good luck!

No offense, but you seem like you're a newbie at modeling/painting. If you want to go the extra mile and get Tamiya paints, then give 'em a try. General spraypaint you buy at Wal-Mart will work equally well. They might even prove easier to use at first because Tamiya lacquers spray heavily, and when compared to their size and price, you can buy a .99 cent 10oz can of generic brand paint and get equal results.

Remember to get some primer while you're at the store, also some Castrol Super Clean (found in the auto section, in a purple spray bottle or a large purple jug for about $5.99) to start over if you mess up painting.
