trans ?

alright my 94 3.0 rear wheel drive aerostar is having some problems part of the time it acts as though it is completely missing all of it's gears and sets their and revs in reverse overdrive drive 1 and 2 and the other part of the time it will run fine with no problems the temperature seems to have nothing to do with it will do it hot or cold and is becoming more frequent the fluid appears full i think the bottom of the dipstick says its full but the top were you actually read it will often times come back with no fluid on it is this a problem it is starting to kick when i shift it into any gear other than neutrual:banghead: so is their any quick fixes for this problem or is my transmission shot anybody got any idea's
