Hey everyone,
I have a couple of quick easy questions. I am new to this car scene but i've been blessed with the opprotunity to trade my grand cherokee with my mom for her VW 2001 GTI VR6. The car is loaded with every feature available, and after driving my boat SUV i couldn't resist. I was just wondering about wheel and tire modifications. Currently the GTI has what i believe are 16inch alloy wheels. Are wheel modifications purely cosmetic, or are there significant improvements gained with larger wheels. I personally want to upgrade to a 18inch 4 spoke wheel. So basically is this just a waste of money or will i be getting anything from upgrading. Thanks
Devin
PS. is this a pretty simple modification, i'm mechanically inclined but i'm not sure if i have the tools neccessary. thanks

If you want to upgrade wheels, simply go with lighter wheels of the same size you have(or even smaller). More importantly, you wanna get some good tires wrapping em :D
