Took Arc I, got a B... Instructor was cool as hell... part owner of a 6 second dragster... one nice god-damned car.

Taking MIG & TIG, starts 10/11. I got to do a little mig, he hooked me up in case I couldn't get into the MIG & TIG class. I liked that ALOT. I'm gonna make a whole new car! I just need to get that ribbed sheet metal someplace..............

Cool

Sounds alot better than the way I learned, "here's the torch, light it with this, and don't stay in one spot for too long".

When it was all said and done, "oh ok, looks like it got off to a good start, but what the hell happened towards the end?" I couldn't see :dunno: "Oh, I forgot to tell you not to look at the light". :shakehead

I'm glad your having fun with it. When I was in high school I took welding my freshman year and took another class my sophomore year. My soph year I got to use foundry equip. Melted alum and made a vise that still works. Machined the steal for the locks and swivel thingys. It is a blast. If you can get in to a foundry class you can make a mold of what you want and pour alum and make it look sweet...I will have to take a pic of the vise.

Good luck with everything

LMAO! That is a BITCH! Fun though.

Jeremy, I'd like to see that, and when I get the time I am going to look into taking that if it's offered around here. Sounds cool as hell. Definitely post up some picks when you get a chance.

I was going to not take ARC 2, but may do so later. I've figured out a bunch of stuff I could make if I do the second class. Of course if I could rotate the work pieces I don't really need the verticle weld class (Arc 2), huh?

im pretty lucky, my dads a professional welder. 30 years ago my dad was a welder on a dragline, back then that was the biggest dragline ever built..its huge...the bucket is so big it would make a spacious 2 car garage.. to lift it, it uses around 4 4 inch cables...anyway back on topic ...i can only arc weld..6011 mostly.......with a little hobart buzz box.........i wanna learn mig...but i dont have a mig welder

I am married, VERY happily might I add. And no I'm not just saying that because she'd kill me or worse if she saw that. Besides, I'm too tied up changing diapers, fixing my house, rebuilding RD, working, taking welding classes, etc... to have an affair. I've got all I can handle in my bed every night!

(EDIT... I'm a one woman man. I've got no interest in dipping into some strange. Although it's fun to flirt on occasion.)

Aww honey, I'm sorry. It's just that last time in the back of the maro... wait... I thought your name was Betty? Or was it Mike? God-dammit I meant Margaret.... WHO IS THIS? BUNNY STEW?? WTF IS GOING ON?!?!? I'M CONFUSED. You know... just when I think I'm looking at some nice internet smut, John's hamster sized mangina pops out of nowhere, and I go blind for 23 minutes.

That's it, that's it.... I've had it up to here ***points to nuts*** You're OUT! And RD is from here forward to be called.. "That who shall go unnamed because it's such a s large pain in my ass that I'll never get out of debt unless i sell an eye, a nut, a kidney and my liver." or just "Piece-O-Shit" for short. Or for those days where it's not quite so bad... "Egg-Fart".

***whew... I need a break.
