for off the line performance you need to beef up your low end. there are many ways to do this, but i can only suggest a few. get a lightened or an underdrive pulley, intake, headers, exaust with a non-restrictive cat and muffler. these are good places to start.

A high flow cat, and muffler is a great way to start, add a header and a cold air intake and you should see some very decent inprovements.
More air in, means more power......, but you need to effecenitly get the exhaust flow out as well.
I did the high flow muffler and converter on my jeep and it made a diffevernice of .9 seconds in my 0-60 times. When I added a kn gen II intake it went down another .3
Also some sort of computer chip would help, maybe a venom module.
They are supose to give you an increase of up to 25%, but will modify the way your transmission shifts which will help alot.
Also try bringing your rev's up before you launch it, it helps a bit. Some where around 1600rpm should still be low enough that you wont hurt anything
