Hi guys,
I have been looking for a cheap car to get me around until I am back on my feet financially. I have an opportunity to buy a 2000 Elantra with 145,000 miles. Are there any problem areas I should look out for?

Well, in general you'd want to know if it's been taken care of. With that many miles the timing belt, accessory belts, spark plugs, and fuel filter should have been changed twice (60,000 miles and 120,000 miles), air filter should have been changed several times, oil changes etc. If it has had all the necessary maintenance you should be ok. Otherwise, there could be problems lurking in there.
