99 Rodeo ABS

The ABS light comes on while normal driving on my 99 Isuzu Rodeo. It will "reset" following instructions in the user manual, but then comes on again. The questions are: What causes this? How much does it cost to fix? And is it something that an average do-it-yourselfer can fix? I've also experienced the typical joys of owning this type vehicle: rebuilt engine, new fuel pump/sending unit, etc.. Any help would be much appriciated.

You need to take it to a shop and have the codes read to find out why the light is turning on.

Check the wiring where it goes up the upper link to the frame. See if any of the wires at the plug there are broken. Look carefully because sometimes its hard to tell.

FYI

Here's a procedure to determine what ABS DTC (diagnostic trouble code) is active. It is done with out the scan tool by activating the ABS warning light flash code.
