Taken by a cellphone sitting on a steering column:

Don't have time to elaborate on each, but the following vehicles have tried me since my last post in here:

Ugly Races:
Mini Cooper S - stop

Toyota Tundra - stop

Lancer OZ Edition - stop/roll (he persisted)

Chevy Silverado - stop/roll (followed me to the freeway and kept trying)

PT Cruiser - stop (tried to beat me on a merge, and showed his intentions by making the car jump as it was stopped, like a jackass)

Close Races:
BMW 745 - (about model year 2002 • LOVED this race) - freeway - I stayed ahead by a fender to 130+ (oh, a Mitsu Mirage who was pacing the 745 tried to stay with us - I was busy paying attention to the road, but needless to say he was NOWHERE around when the race was over)

Acura CL Type S - freeway (two cars from 80 to 110)

i hate you. it takes about 20 sec for me to hit from 80 to 110 i think. thats wicked. have you found out the other misterious mods that the previous owner did to the car?

Sorry no. I was thinking lightweight flywheel, as fast as the V6 revs, but I have no way of proving it, so I won't claim it.

I also did a DIY Hypergrounding Kit on my car, and though it does add a bit of power and smoothness to the motor, it's not enough to be claimed IMO, so I/E is all I'll claim for mods right now.

It's just a custom short ram - intake piping, with a MAF adaptor and filter adaptor for the MAF.

How were you able to tell when your MAF was about to give?

it would hesitate pretty noticably right before the Variable intake engaged at 4,000 rpm, then once the MAFS blows the ecu goes into limp mode and you can't rev over 2500 rpm. one time it happened to me at the track, 90 miles from home, and i had to drive home down the parkway without going over 2500 rpm the whole time. fortunately 6th gear at 2500 rpm is like 80 mph, so it wasn't totally intolerable, just a PITA short shifting every gear coming out of the tolls.

when you clean and oil your air filter make sure you give it a lot of time to dry before putting it on the car and running it, and use electric parts cleaner on the MAFS every once in a while to make sure there's no oil on your sensor element. new MAFS' are $400+.
