Anyone have a method for installing the seal on an automatic trans filter seal? I CANNOT get that @$%^#*&^ thing to go back in... more than a little frustrating.
Thanks!

Dumb question, but has the old seal been removed? Try coating the new seal with clean transmission oil, Vaseline, or TransGel before inserting it. Some of them are fairly tight.

Ya know what sucks? I'll tell you anyway. I got it in about 20 minutes after I posted this. I gave up for the evening in installing the oil seal on the neck of the filter - the small one in the tranny. Anyway, I cleaned up and was actually in bed and thought of using a socket, with an extention put through the business end(no other way to describe it) instead of the normal way. I tapped that with a small hammer a few times and it slid right in. (I had also put the metal seal in the freezer - yes, I was THAT desperate). But anyway, the tranny is still pooched, I just had to try a few things this before having this one rebuilt. It leaves next week.
Thanks for the help everyone!
