Pro Kit or Sport Line?

I have a 96 civic coupe. I want to lower it as much as possible wihtout scraping. I have stock wheels and stock shocks. I am not going to add a bodykit, I may just add sideskirts and a front and back lip. Should I go with Eiback Pro Kits or Sport Lines? I know that Sportlines are 1.8" and Prokits are 1.4". Can I get sport lines without scraping?

That should not be a problem with either set of springs.

But either way. Lowering your car that much you are gonna want new shocks

I thought side skirts, front and back lips were what made up a body kit? So you are getting a bodykit then.

I'm not getting a full-blown bumper set, just lips, if that's still considered a bodykit, then I guess I'm getting a bodykit.

Is there any difference between the sport lines and the pro kits besides the height?

From what I understand it's just the height difference. It's all the same materials and tchnology just different choices of height.

The difference isn't just height, but more ride quality/feel than anything else. The Pro Kit is supposed to give a comfortable ride, and the Sport lines will feel stiffer. You should be fine with either spring IMO since Eibach makes some of the best out there. Once you get them, SERIOUSLY get Koni Yellows or some other after market shock, as you will blow out your stock ones within a year, 95% guaranteed.

Oh, and just a front and rear lip is NOT a body kit. ;) That's called standard equipment on some models. A body kit is something like Bomex, GD2000, Xenon, or Wings West. A simple Si lip is just en enhancement.

ok, well in your guys' opinions, if I can get either, which would you get personally? I am going to eventually add tokico illuminas and 17" wheels. What would YOU get?

Eek! :eek: Personally I'd go with the Pro Kits, those are what I would have gotten if I had gone straight springs and seperate shocks.

It depends on what kind of surface you drive on daily. If you the roads you drive are rough or bumpy, lot of potholes that kind of thing. Definatly go with the pro kit. It will be much easier on your car and more importantly YOU!

But if you drive on smooth asphalt and want that super stiff ride with an ultra low look get the sportlines. Or better yet get some H&R springs.

And why koni yellows? I've heard a a lot of good things about tokico illumina's.

I've never heard of Tokico illuminas. I'm not an expert on shocks so I don't really know. That's why I was saying listen to SilverY2KCivic cause he probably knows.

Plus, Koni Yelllows are all that anyone talks about . KYB is another brand I've heard of.

Tokico's have gotten slightly better review thats the konis. I really would get either though, depending on what's cheaper.

Actually I wouldn't know as much about them as others that actually have them would, since I roll with a set of Tein SS coilovers on my ride. (by far the best quality ride I've ever left to date exception of stock suspension).

I mentioned the Koni Yellows because they seem to be the best in the industry, they have a good warranty. If you blow a set of Tokicos while lowered, they won't replace them for you. KYB will only warrent their AGX line of shocks if lowered NO MORE than it's either an inch, or "1.5 inches. No one really ever lowers only that much. So the Konis are the way to go, plus I hear they can tolerate a wider range of springs and setups than Illuminas or AGX's. Konis will set you back a little more $$$ but from what I've experienced (I have friends rolling on Yellows and Neuspeed race springs), the ride is pretty nice. It's all on your preferance though, read up about them, and then decide from there. That's what I did with my Teins. Originally I wanted Ground Controls and some Yellows. Then I swetiched to the wanting G/C's and Tokico "Blues." Then I was focused on getting a set of Neuspeed full coilovers, then reading up on them and pricing them out as the best bang for buck setup, I settled, and bought a set of the Tein SS's I have right now.

All in all though, I'd get AGX KYB's before I'd get Illuminas (from people that have had each) and I'd get Yellows if at all possible. Oh, and I said "eek" because I had such a dilema deciding on my set up, both springs you mentione are good units, hard to decided, just depends on what kind of ride feel you want.
