Hi, I have a 93 buick lesabre, and i was wondering what would be the fastest way to get it to 60 mph

Should I just floor it in overdrive
Should I start in gear 1, and shift up as I go?

Thx

I'd be afraid to shift if while you're flooring the car...the 4t60E is not known for its ability to accept abuse when power is demanded from it.

The absolutely fastest way I know of would be shove the car off a steep, tall cliff. Gravity will power it to 60mph pretty dang quick I'd imagine.. :P

Anyway, Id just leave it in OD and let the tranny do its work on its own accord.

If I recall correctly velocity = acceleration multiplied by time. So time = velocity divided by acceleration. Recalling that 60 MPH is equal to 88 Feet per second and that the acceleration of gravity is 32 feet per sec per second, by pushing the car off the cliff it should reach 60MPH in 2.75 seconds (88 divided by 32). Now this assumes no air resistance so it may take a little longer unless the windows are down.

Seriously, I just got finished rebuilding my 93 Lesabre transmission and I drive it very gently now. I would not like to have to repeat that rebuild any time soon.

This is some funny stuf man, I think it needs to be immortalized in the AF quote thread :)
