1995 Bon - Disabling the security system

1995, 3.8 engine SSE with factory installed security system. Lately the security light remains ON after starting the car and shortly after 2 minutes it blinks and then and extinguishes. The car runs fines though through all the stages. However, last night the whole neigbhorhood woke up to the sound of the alrm on the car. How embarrassing. I unlocked it and the alarm silenced.

Can you PLS provide any guidance on what maybe causing the security light to remain On and extinguish shortly after.

How can I disable the alrm system on this car without affecting the engine start.

It turned out to be the truch switch that was causing the security light to illuminate. Had it replaced along with the trunk actuator, electric open, and been fine ever since.
