fuel cut question

Ok.. so my boost went up the past week for some reason and I hit fuel cut. I'm pretty sure I did. Car slammed pretty good like if I took my foot off the gas and then slammed the gas again( like a huge sputter). Is it true to take the negative wire on the battery off for a few seconds to the let the ecu retsart so it doesn't remember fuel cut? Thats what I read before but I didn't know if it was true.

And will my saf-c1 lose its settings if I do take it off?

SAFC will not lose settings. It's al saved internally. IDK if resetting the ECU will make it forget fuel cut. Fuel cut is always there. I see you rewired the FP. Did you reset it then when you did that? I would imagine you did. I mean, you can give it a try, but it may be something else.

Now that we are in the topic, i just installed a 14b in my gst and i after i installed it, it was boosting 18 psi at full boost. i never boosted 18 psi for more than 3 secs. and one day i decided to step on the gas on 3rd gear and i loved it at 18 psi, but then i hit fuel cut. so i rewired my fuel pump, and i still cant boost 18psi without fuel cut. i just read here that i was suppossed to reset the ecu which i didnt know. then 2 nights ago i got a cell and was gone 1 day later and came back tonight. does fuel cut give a cell?

Does the car make a loud "bang" noise when it hits fuel cut? Does it make any noise at all? Any smoke ? Apperantly when my car hits fuel cut, white smoke comes out of exhaust. Those were the words of Mitsu Mechanic at the dealership.

It makes a loud bang. Yea I dont think I ever took the wires off the negative terminal since I did the rewire last winter. I went by plymouthlaser.com's directions and I didn't remember seeing that. If this works it be amazing. Let ya know.

you shouldnt have any problems with fuel cut on a rewired FP... reset your ECU... *you rewired your fuel pump with out disconnecting the battery, yu got balls... like HUGE ONES!!!* :2cents:

lol it was about a year ago so i can't remember if I touched the negative side or not. I did like 10 mods in two days that week. I reset the ecu and tried lowering my boost and I think my mbc is on its last life because it's not really adjusting the boost as I adjust the lock nut. Maybe I'll keep my eyes out for a new boost controller. Either way when I made two hard pulls, it didn't hit fuel cut but I dont plan to floor it really until I get the boost lower.

What about the injectors, they may not be supplying enough fuel.

Well i hit 23 psi today when I floored it after resetting the ecu and I didn't hit fuel cut. I'm worried about my mbc right now. I basically closed it to the point where I should be barely hitting boost and it's still hitting 23ish. I want it back down to 16ish. Everything looks fine too.

Fuel cut is when your airflow hits 2.55g/rev. Boost & fuel have nothing to do with it. Things like that are easy to find with the help of the elusive search button...

But doesn't boost affect airflow?

It's dependent, but not the cause.

Ok well today, I adjusted my mbc and couldn't get it to settle under 20psi. My vacumme seems fime according to the gauge and I even tried my friends mbc and it still didn't lower more then 20psi.

Any suggestions on what is going on here?
