Battery Moving

i know it is not needed with the types of mods i have done and are doing still, but i want to move my battery to my trunk.
:banghead: my short ram rubs it, it lessens the space and airflow to my intake, hard to get tools to it. i have to take it out when i need to get somewhere else under my hood. :banghead:
i am looking for a better way to do this than to just buy a kit from the net and end up not getting what i wanted. is there a better way? or a kit that has solid instructions?

I'm not sure what kind of instructions they come with, but they should come with good detailed ones.

ur right about it being a strain on the alternator.....they are only built to push the power a couple feet to the battery in the engine bay, not 6-7 feet back to the trunk. it puts a lot of strain on it to push 12v all that way. if u do decide to put ur battery in the trunk, but sure to get some big gauge cables, so they will carry more current and not put as much strain on the alternator.

ya i would agree and man it aint a big deal anyways that your battery is touching tintake it aint gonna make u loose 100000000 HP and u sure aint gonna gain999999999 HP if it wasnt in the way :D just saying

its not that i am wanting to move it because of HP loss or anything of that matter, but it is just in the way when i do anything under my hood it seems. and with it gone i just feel i could do lots more with so much more space under my lid, atleast thats how i feel.
but now that you mention it, it would have alot more air flow for under-car air to get in there. WOO! new reason to do it!

So at least one of those links ended up working for you?
and your actually going to do it huh? be sure to post some pics of it when done and how hard it was and if moving the battery is creating any strain on the alternator.

as far as trunking the batt. there is the alt. strain due to a higher resistance, but it really shouldnt be that much of a difference. My subs take my whole trunk anyway :)
As far as air restriction... If this is a stock 2.4, as it looks to be, that filter will give it more than enough air even if its' half blocked.
What is it that you do to your car all the time that the batt is in the way...? Just cleaning the filter or what?

when i am doing anything to my car that has to do with a cleaning, or just plain cleaning the filter.
my shit has a long way to go with making it clean, but i shouldnt have to move it toomuch more. im just gonna be happy if i can move it, but the bills came, looks like that will be next payday :(

it shouldn't be too hard...just make like a sturdy wooden frame with a detachable hold-down bar on it, might as well ground the battery right there, and ground the engine to the frame (dont know if it is necessary or not, but i would) and run a pretty big gauge wire all the way up to the alternator (run it just like you would an amp wire), and a bigger one than stock to the underhood fuse box as well as any where else it may need to go...i dont see it bein too hard at all...
