The best fairlady

If yomeone asks what is your favourite Fairlady which model would it be? and, regardless of the choice, which kit would you vote for as the best Fairlady kit? And, since the issue is raised, is there any kits of the 260Z except that miserable Nitto (or similar) kit?

Z32 hands down

The Z432R would be my vote. Lightweight factory racer w/a Skyline engine built in very small numbers.

Here is Hasegawa's version:

Easily the best looking Fairlady/240Z kit ever done in 1/24 scale.

Dunno 'bout 260Z's, they were only a 1 year model prior to the 280; Monogram did a semi-sketchy curbside 280 that has possibilities, but it pales in comparison w/the Hasegawa kit.

The late Z31 styling is my favorite to look at. I <3 '80s cars!! :)

I don't know which are the best, as I haven't built any, and only own a couple still in boxes, but I can tell what's on my to-get/wishlist:

1/12 Tamiya 240Z (In current production; MSRP ~$80-100)
1/24 Hasegawa Z432R
1/24 Tamiya Z31 300ZX
1/12 Hasegawa Z32 300ZX (long out of production; goes for ~$600)

I love them all so I can't really say which would be my favourite, although I've had the pleasure of owning 2 different models at different stages of my life.

With the kits, I've got a few, some I can recommend, others not really.... so here we go.

1.Fujimi Fairlady 240ZL kit (with engine) is brilliant.
2.Arii 280z kit is really really awful (did I mention it is really awful?)
3.Tamiya 280zx T-bar roof kit is fantastic, lots of detail and nothing less than whats expected from Tamiya
4. Fujimi 300zr is so so... not too bad but there is some detail missing, overall it's still worth building.
5. Tamiya Fairlady 300zx Turbo is another great kit from Tamiya.

I'm somewhat partial to the Fujimi Z-31:)

1) '94 300ZX Twin Turbo. Well, I'm bias since I have one. :)
2) The best kit is the 1/12 Hasegawa 300ZX.
3) '74 is the only year for the 260Z. It's identical to the '73 240Z except the engine displacement is 2.6L, hence the name. There really isn't much on the exterior that would distinguish one from the other, except for the badges. There is a 260Z 2+2 that looks very different from the 240Z, but as far as I know there isn't a kit of it.
