Yellow light is usualy a warning light. Possibly a check engine warning light.

As an aside: in case anyone is interested my NSX is for sale (due to new car - the NSX has been a perfect gem for the last 2 years...)

That yellow light being on (lit) tells the driver that TCS (traction control system) is OFF.

This is the "preferred" setting for performance driving, allowing the driver to modulate slip with his right foot, instead of letting some computer intervene.
