hey everyone, love the site

so i'm 16 turning 17 in January and have started looking into cars, the other day i saw a black chevelle w/ orange stripes at this auto repair shop for sale and thought that would be a sick car to have in HS, I'd b the only kid with something like that so I started looking into prices and what not. so here are some cars I found (they're classifieds so I prob won't buy these actual cars but i figured I'd use them as examples to get some info)

it depends on what you want to do... if you want a decent looking car and dont care how fast it is, just get one with a straight 6, some will get 20mpg in the city no problem. if you want something fast that needs a little body work, get one with a smallblock or bigblock v-8, chevy's v-8's are awesome when you soup them up, as well as the other 2 companies of the big 3. i suggest you get something that needs a little overall work,

basically, look for a car that has an interior that is either good or needs only things that are easy to replace, such as one that the seats are good and it just needs new chrome door handles or something along them lines... also, make sure the car has some visible imperfections in the actual body (outside lol) and that will drive the price down quite a bit. the key to getting a nice project car is that... all you gotta do is sand it down, weld in a few patches, and paint it, no needing to tear out the interior and engine compartment and whatnot. a crashed car will be dirt cheap, as well as the replacement panels for the smashed ones...
