Car died

I have a 2001 Rodeo LS with 92,000 miles on it. The other day on the freeway the set cruise light came on for about 3 seconds and then the car just died, it lasted about 20 seconds. Then about 2 miles later it just died. It will crank okay but nothing else. My mechanic says he cannot find any spark or fuel pressure. Any ideas?
It is the V6.
Thanks,
Ryan

I would start by checking the fuses and then swapping out some of the relays in the box under the hood.
The only other thing I can think of the alt died and is causing some sorta short circuit?

have someone jup it and crank it you open hood grab harness near drivers side valve cover pull wiggle and twist the heck out of it, if it starts
you can A> split the harness open find about 6-10 wires broken inside of the insulator by giving each wire a good tug repair them or B>for $275 purchace a new harness an spend about three hrs installing it

Just thought I would let everybody know what happened. It ended up being a loose and corroded wire in the closest harness to the front of the car on the drivers side. My starter also went out, battery replaced, battery cables replaced, oil change = $914. I got charged $300 for finding the problem, $365 for the starter, etc. Overall more than what I expected but it is done.

thanks for the follow-up RIPS4.
do you have any more specifics on that harness, like what components, etc
its involved with, or even if your parts list shows what the name of the harness is, or its part number?
and did they indicate why it might have gone, i.e. was it freeky, or common for the year and model, etc.?
thanks
glad they solved it for you. . .
