Pussy drag radials :nono:. When are you going to man up and get some slicks??:grinyes:

LOL.

Did ya have to trim around your fenders for those tires???

Mr. Luos
09-25-2006, 09:30 PM
Nope.
These fit right in.

Slicks...driveline isn't going to take that yet.

chevytrucks92
09-25-2006, 09:43 PM
Ahh, I'd say your driveline would be fine. My Vega had a normal drive line. It was just shortened, and it run for over 13 years, and would still be running if the axel tube hadn't of broke.

I guess your wheel openings have a pretty decent amount of room. If you ever went with a big slick, you'd probably have to do some trimming though, but you won't ever go with the size that would require that.

I bet you get a lot of rubber on your 1/4 panels though don't ya? Looks like the tires stick out a little there at the bottom. I know my Vega was like that. It would cover up the lower part of the 1/4 panels with rubber, lol. The Nova don't becuase the tires are tucked under that.

Mr. Luos
09-25-2006, 09:46 PM
Little bit of rubber. Wax helps.
I am mostly worried about the driveshaft. Aluminum stocker.

chevytrucks92
09-25-2006, 09:51 PM
Lol. Well, when I said driveline I was talking about the driveshaft. I'd say you'd be fine. I mean everybody wants an alluminum piece anyways, lol. The one I twisted up was steel, and it was nothing special. Just a stocker piece that was cut to fit and welded back.

It stood a lot of hole shots in its day. It held up against some stout 355s, 406s, a 468 BBC, and then bit the dust with my 383, but like I said, breaking the axel tube is what caused the drive shaft to break.

Be careful Luos. Don't be so driven to run an 11 that you stay in it when you shouldn't.

Anyways, wish you luck on the 11's. I'm guessing you'll run a 12.1 @116mph though.

you're shooting for 11s? pffft,.....that is like so slow like yeah

Ever run yours???
Bet is doesn't break 16's. :screwy:

I am not going to push the car that hard tomorrow afternoon. I need to drive it home after racing, so....
Video camera will be there, but I will have a rookie getting the footage. So not sure how much good footage I will have.

TheStang00
09-26-2006, 07:50 PM
well i think 11s should be possible... i mean you ran a 12.3 on normal tires. or is that the corrected time?

Mr. Luos
09-26-2006, 09:00 PM
I don't correct ET's.
Dyno gives corrected numbers. Just like any dyno, but with a higher correction factor.

The 12.32 was with heavy wheels and Nitto DR's that finally hooked up a little bit for me. 1.868 short time.
I think with the cooler weather, the lighter wheels, and stickier tires 11's shouldn't be all that tough.

chevytrucks92
09-26-2006, 09:13 PM
I'd say you'll get break into the 11 second range. This is the best time of year for drag racing.

How far do you have to drive to get to the track??

Mr. Luos
09-26-2006, 09:21 PM
20-25 miles.
Not far.

chevytrucks92
09-26-2006, 09:48 PM
I see. I think its getting about time to invest in a truck and trailer mister! You're making pretty big power and its no longer a question of "if" I'll break something, its "when" I'll break something!

Do you just go and test n tune or do you actually race?

Mr. Luos
09-26-2006, 09:53 PM
Test and Tune.
I am not consistent enough yet with this set-up to actually race it.

Mr. Luos
09-27-2006, 10:44 PM
Well, the footage is a little rough, but you will get the idea.
Coming soon....

Mr. Luos

Maybe.

Short time still leaves improvement. 1.810.
I need to learn the tires.

chevytrucks92
09-27-2006, 11:23 PM
What about the rest? (330, 1/8th, 1/8th mph, etc).

My educated guess would be......low 8s, maybe high 7s in the 1/8th.

Mr. Luos
09-27-2006, 11:32 PM

That's awesome dude:thumbsup:!

Shoot, you're within 7 tenths of me in the 330, and just under a second in the 1/8th and your around 3000-3500 feet higher then me, lol (average elevation for the county that the 1/8th mile track I run at now is in the 1200-1800 range, with a few spots in the 1800-3000 range):yikes:!

That's impressive IMO.

^^ Seriously though have you ever thought of going to Nebraska to see what you could run?

Mad_Maxima
09-29-2006, 07:04 PM
and have you not been kicked out for not having a roll bar or something?? Or are these different tracks then what I'm familiar with

Mr. Luos
09-29-2006, 07:51 PM
I would get kicked from an NHRA track.

Mad_Maxima

Yea, i kinda figured you werent going to those, just dont remember the other tracks there are

Mr. Luos
09-29-2006, 09:52 PM
Bandimere is an NHRA track.
11.49 and faster require a cage.
I tech to 11.49.

chevytrucks92
09-29-2006, 11:18 PM
You'd get kicked at an IHRA track too. I even think some of them are still 11.99.

The ones that run a 1/4 anyways. I dont know what the rule is in an 1/8th.
