I have a question i've been pondering. If you belive in Satan you would belive in God right? If you belive in God you must belive he died on the cross to forgive our sins so we can go to heaven, right?
Can anyone help me with this?

where has the idea that god died on the cross come from?

jesus (suposedly) died on the cross.

just so people know, when people are crucified you die from suffocation, as the wieght it taken by your hands your body can't support itself, your lungs are compressed and you can't breathe.

To rephrase your questions:

If you believe in Satan, must you also believe in God?
Which Satan...? The Christian Devil? The fallen angel Lucifer? Iblis? Beelzebub? Mephistopheles?

Are these all the same? And do they have anything to do with those who would call themselves "Satanists?" Perhaps not:
The Church of Satan draws its name from the mythological and cultural concepts of Satan. Satan stands as the central symbol for many different gods including Ahriman, Loki, Set, Amon, and Belial to name a few. They are all seen as symbolic of the same ideals and archetype. The Church of Satan claims that every individual can be his or her own god and is responsible for his or her own destiny. ("Satan" in their usage denotes a symbol and metaphor rather than a literal anthropomorphic deity.) People who follow this belief system are called "Satanists".

If you believe in God, must you believe [Jesus] died on the cross to forgive our sins so we can go to heaven?
Surely you realize this is exclusively the Christian worldview, and it is not the only way in which humans percieve the spiritual world.

i don't understand how people can think Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins if he died almost 2,000 years ago.

Ok lets try this a little differently. If you believe in a being of evil persuasion then it is logical to believe in a being of righteous persuasion. So your question is why would anyone worship an entity of evil over one of good.

There is extremely little evidence to support that there are groups of any decent size who "worship the devil". Most of the people who claim to worship the devil and perform sacrifices and bullshit along those lines are either teenagers looking for attention or full of shit. This is something that has been put into peoples minds by leaders of smaller religious meetinghouses to increase the size of their parish.

So to answer the question posted in the topic....no.

In the future try to remember that not everyone is a christian. I believe in an omnipotent being that one could call God. Do I believe in Jesus? Yes, there are historical records to show he was alive. Do I believe he was the son of God? No. I believe he was a good Jew and it ends at that. So assuming that because someone believes in God that they believe that Jesus died on a cross to forgive our sins is ignorant.

Satanism are devided into many. But what youre thinking of is not satanists, but devil worshipers. A satanist believe in Satan, and they define Satan as the individual, your own power to achieve want you want. Not as a being or Entity, like christians believe in God. Devilworshipers consists 99% of emos who don't like Christianity because they wear happy clothing and that their parents are christians. The last 1% I don't want to know.

the basis of satanism, as i understand it, is basically denying all the rules given by christianity and living to please yourself. things like sex, drugs, and other laws that are unacceptable in the christian religion are actually encouraged. i beleive one of the "commandments" of satanism is to put yourself first and only do what pleases you, or something like that. its not really about worshiping satan.

Don't blame the site for your double posting; it was me working my little bit of evil for the day.
Once upon a time I'd start wars, create famine, spread diseases, tempt lost souls with money, power, fame. These days I don't get to do much with people like Bush and Blair running countries.

Satanists, as in the Church of Satan, don't believe in a devil. 'Satanism' is their name because ti represents the opposition of Christianity. Satan means adversary, and they chose the name to show themselves as adversaries of Christianity, out to free mankind from the opressive clutch of Christianity. They don't worship anything, black masses and prayers to Lucifer are done as a mock of Christians.

Actual devil-worshippers believe that the Christian god is the actual evil one trying to enslave mankind and Satan is trying to free us from him. The Christian god tried to keep humans stupid and subservient in the Garden of Eden like zoo animals, Satan freed us from that by giving us the gift of knowledge.

what I find funny is that many satanists admire Crowely who was himself a high order of Mason; an inherently Christian society.

I don't know what you're getting at.

Either you're unsure that he was actually crusified, or that Jesus is a myth.

I hate wiki, but w/e http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tacitus_on_Jesus

Tacitus was born roughly 20 years after Jesus died, so his writings, although don't mention 'Jesus' as his name, but a differ name as the founder, and also notes his actual death in the time of Tiberius' reign.

Thar.
