Just recieved my TCU via OEM Parts Supply on ebay. Havent put it in yet but I plan to do it on wednesday when I have the time, can anyone tell me or direct me to where it is located. I tried to find it on the CD manual I revieved from LinBcker89 (I know its spelled wrong), but I couldn't seem to find a picture or anything. Oh yeah and I also have a ticking type sound whenever I accelerate, could this be the lifter ticks or something else? Thanks.

Some things need replacing, the front right fender, the reare left fender, and that dent you see :frown:. And maybe some touch up paint. Oh yeah, and the front left wheel well.......

I don't have an auto, so bear with me, but it should be somewhere under/infront of the ECU, laying horizontally on the top of the hump under your ECU, but slightly closer to the firewall. I think there is only 1 connector. Should be pretty easy to find, only held in by a few bolts, but probably still prove to be a slight PITA to remove

Uhh, dont quite know where the ECU is either lol, well I thought it was to the direct right of where the gas pedal is, behind the carpet wall there. I disconnected that and realized that it was not it, so I reconnected it. At first the car didnt start, (no turn at all). Then started right back up. Ooops wrong on, Ill research when I have more time so I dont seriously *uck myself... Should I remove the parts in front of it all, or just try to move around, or both?

ecu removal (http://www.stealth316.com/2-ecmremoval.htm)

You shouldn't need to really remove anything except those two carpet things. Then jsut remove any bolts holding hte tcu down, unplug it, and work it out. I just know with the ECU and all the wiring I have in htere, sometimes it takes a few minutes of manuevering to get it in/out. But you shouldn't need to remove anything.

Ok well I found out where the TCU was located, only this is, is that when I pulled it out, the back wiring harness didnt fit! So I thought it was the ecu, I put it back in, and the car didnt turn over for two turns, on the thirds turn of the key it did. I think I may have bought a wrong TCU that wont fit in my car. I know it is a TCU because its numbers match that of the TCU numbers. Or I might be mistaken.

OK, pretty simpe, teh ECU is pretty much bolted on sideways. It is vertical. The TCU is bolted down flat...horizontal.

If the one you bought doesn't fit, you probably got the wrong year or model. Check the numbers on the TCU in your car, if they don't match teh numbers on the TCU you just bought...you just bought hte wrong one.

yeah I definetly bought the wrong one. Oh well I am sure I can get most of the money back, I hope. I tried looking on 3SI.org but it was hard to locate one for sale. And that I only have a hotmail account I cannot become a member.

do you have internet at your home or school? if so, then your ISP at home should provide you with email accounts, and those email addresses would work with 3si. if you have an email through your school, then that email address would work as well.

Yes I have an email like that, but I cant access it anymore. This is a newer computer and I have never actually tried. I most likely could but would have to look more into it to get there. Isnt it $10 also to get a membership?

no, you don't have to pay the 10 bucks. that's voluntary. all you need is an email address that works.
