Hi Everybody:
My sun roof has stopped working and I'm wondering if someone can give some information. I took the glass out and noticed two thin metal rods that were disconnected. If I push the button on the sunroof, two square parts (one on each side) move to the rear, the problem is that they're not connected to the rest of the sunroof so the windows never opens. Does anybody know how these connect. I have the LS service manual and there is no mention of this in it. Thanks for your help.

What year is your LS? Do you have the factory service manual, or an aftermarket like Haynes or Chilton? The "Body" section of the factory service manual addresses replacing the sunroof assembly and transferring the glass, which seems like it should address the rods.

Hi Rod:
It is a 2000 LS, I have the actual factory manual on CD and have looked over the body section including sunroof replacement. Unfortunatley there is nothing about the rods. I was hoping someone could just look at their's when it's in the vent position and tell me if they can see how the rods connect to the rest of the track. Thanks!

I'm currently on travel, but when I get home I can check on my 2004. I'm not sure if there are differences between the Gen 1 and 2004. My wife's 2002 LS does not have the sunroof.

If you'd like, I can e-mail you a photo or two of the tracks of my sunroof in the vent position.

I've sent you three photos of the sunroof in my 2004. They should be in your inbox. Now you may want to edit your previous post to remove your e-mail address.
