Taking off a fuel filter

Hello Everyone,

Well I’ve been trying to get my fuel filter off of my 2000 Ranger. After a week I gave up and took the new part and my truck to a local garage that I trusted. They put the filter on and told me that there are little plastic clips that do into the top of the connector that must be taken out first. I thought I’d pass this on in case someone else is trying to replace there filter.

Actually I just went through that process with my '95 Ranger. The plastic clips are no problem, but you need a special little tool (cheap) to release the filter from the fuel line. If the auto parts guy hadn't told me this, it would've been nearly impossible to get the filter off.
